Cool With A "K" PART 17 - CHAPTER 7

I had to do something about my exclusion. What if this lasted even after we were back home? There was one more day of our camping trip left and I was not about to let it go on like this. No way, that would never happen!

Cool With A "K" PART 17 - CHAPTER 6

Scowling, I placed a bowl in front of Alice, Chris, and Geoffry.
"Yum!" Chris beamed, "Thank you, Angie!"
"Yes, thank you!" Alice said excitedly.
"Thank you, Angela." Geoffry said, smiling a sickeningly sweet smile. I sneered at him, but Chris and Alice were too busy killing their yogurt to notice (I managed to make Alice's vegan. Don't ask how, it was hard, but I didn't tell Alice that).
I sat down at the table with my own bowl of yogurt and Geoffry grinned at me, seeing my scowl. Chris looked up from his breakfast, "What's wrong, Angie?"
I shrugged, driving my spoon into my yogurt, "Oh, I was just thinking of some old show tunes I know. I don't know what made me think of this one, but something must have triggered it. Loathing! Unadulterated loathing. For your face your voice your clothing...."
Geoffry scowled at me, but Chris just smiled cheerily and said, "Oh, that's not an old show tune, that's from Wicked."
Chris and Alice spontaneously starting singing, "Popular! You're gonna be popular! I'll teach you the proper ploys when you talk to boys, little ways to flirt and flounce!"
I sighed, stirring my yogurt as Chris and Alice frolicked around the table. They both stood behind me, leaning over my shoulder and singing loudly, "You're gonna grin and bear it, your new popularity! Laaaaa laaaaa laaaa laaa!"
I slumped down in my seat. I hate show tunes. Geoffry just smiled at them like they were so cute. Of course he wasn't mad, Geoffry is never mad. How could someone so perfect get mad? I hate him. Someday, I should sneak in and cut of his dreadlocks one by one. That would make Chris happy. He may not show it, but I can tell that Chris hates Geoffry's dreadlocks, he's just too in love with the-
"Hey, Angie, thanks for cooking." Geoffry smiled sweetly and I snapped out of my trance.
Chris chuckled, "Oh, no need to thank her, I can cook better."
I scowled. Oh yeah, no need to thank the servant, she doesn't have any feelings.
I hated this. What was I going to do? They were all turning against me, even Alice! Well, speaking of show tunes.... Cellophane, Mister Cellophane should of been my name.....

Cool With A "K" PART 17 - CHAPTER 5

I yawned, rubbing my eyes. Time for day three of camping, let's see how many of us would come out alive.
I got dressed and unzipped the tent door, stepping out into the cool but sunny morning. The grass was green, the sun was shining.... something was wrong. Something bad was going to happen any second now, I knew it.....
Oh look, Geoffry is up already. I knew it, the world had that horribly wonderful Geoffry glow to it.
He noticed me and smiled, "Morning, Angie."
I smiled tightly, "Morning, Geoffry."
Geoffry smiled cheerily and said, "Is Chris up?"
I shrugged and he walked away. Hmm, weird guy.
Looking like he knew what he was doing, Geoffry walked over to Chris's tent and I clenched my teeth. Geoffry opened the tent door and kneeled down by Chris, gently shaking him. Uhg, he better not scare him to death, which I knew he would!
Chris opened his eyes and smiled at Geoffry. Oh, come on! No 'Oh my god what are you doing here'? Chris was supposed to be afraid of everything! What the heck, man?
Chris and Geoffry came over to the picnic table I was sitting at. Geoffry sat sleepy Chris down across from me, rubbing his shoulders like some stupid I'll-do-anything-for-you husband from a movie.... I will never again imply Geoffry as Chris's husband and I hope no one else ever does. I don't know why, but I just get a creepy vibe from that guy. Maybe it's the fact that he, as weird as it sounds, seems to touch Chris every chance he gets.
Example: Just now, the morning just started and Geoffry has already put his hand on Chris's shoulders twice. On their first 'date' he kissed Chris. They are always holding hands. Geoffry always tries to put his arm around Chris's waist unless I find a way to interrupt. Things like that.
I wish I had proof that he did something bad so I could know why I was so suspicious around him, but I just can't figure it out. He's like the goony guy who plays the boyfriend of lovable main character's ex in all the movies. The guy that seems so perfect, but you can't help but hate him. But for some reason, I seem to be the only one who doesn't like him. Alice has been all over him ever since he saved her life, which was not entirely his doing (Hello! I was the one who pulled her out of the bog!) It's not like she's in love with the guy (oh god, I hope not!), she's just been worshiping him ever since the incident with the bog.
"Hi, Angie." Chris yawned, resting his head on his palms and putting his elbows on the table.
I patted his shoulder, "Cute little sleepy Chris!"
Chris pawed at my hand, "Stop it, Angie."
I drew back, a little hurt that he would let Geoffry touch his shoulder but wouldn't let me do the same. Was I not his favorite anymore?
As I pondered this terrifying thought, Alice came and sat by me, "Hey, you guys..."
She smiled at Chris, "Hey, Buddy. Somebody tired?"
Chris answered with a muffled 'meh' sound and fell asleep right there. I giggled, my brother was so cute. But the smile faded off my face and I couldn't help scowling at Geoffry as he helped Chris stand up and said, "Do you want to go back to sleep? Here, I'll walk you back."
Chris nodded sleepily and they went back to Chris's tent (Geoffry's hands happily placed on Chris's shoulders).
I watched Geoffry intensely, preparing to give him a don't-even-think-about-going-in-Chris's-tent look if he turned around. He didn't turn around, but he did sit by Chris as he quickly fell asleep. If Geoffry watching Chris sleep isn't creepy, then I don't know what is.
Alice watched me curiously as I clenched my teeth. She followed my gaze and said, "Hey, you okay, Ange?"
"Sure, Alice. I'm just fine." I said, standing up without thinking. I walked over to the tent and said loudly, "Hey, Chris! I'm gonna make yogurt, okay? You don't want to miss breakfast."
Chris's eyes shot open and he instantly sat up, a stupid, cute, excited grin on his face. Geoffry moved his hand, in which he had placed on Chris's shoulder while he slept angelically.
"Yogurt? Really? Vanilla?" Chris said anxiously, his eyes shining.
I laughed, "No, Chris, I'm making strawberry yogurt. Of course vanilla! That's your favorite!"
I smiled at my little brother as he punched the air excitedly. Yes!
I had brought my yogurt maker along so I could, well, make yogurt. I was making the yogurt for breakfast when Geoffry came up to me and smiled, "Hey, want me to help?"
"No." I said shortly. I didn't care if I sounded rude. Then again, I didn't mind if Geoffry jumped off a cliff.... as long as he didn't take Chris with him.
Geoffry recoiled, a little surprised. The smile returned to his face almost instantly, "Okay, good luck with that."
"Oh, I don't need your blessing." I said out loud, laughing a little.
Geoffry studied my face, "I'm sorry, what?"
I turned to him, pointing a spoon in his face, "Look, you better stay away from my little brother or else."
Geoffry blinked. I expected him to back down, but he just smirked, "Or what?"
I held up the spoon to him, "Or I'll make you wish you never went near him."
Almost, but not quite to my surprise, Geoffry put his face up close to mine and said, "I'm not afraid of you."
I held my glare and Geoffry smirked again, saying, "Chris is my boyfriend. We're a couple, and there's nothing you can do about it."
I didn't say anything and Geoffry laughed, "What are you gonna do? Beat me to death with that spoon?"
His smirk reminded me of Mouse the day she had joined the football team and put tampons in Chris's locker, that horrible I'm-gonna-take-you-down smirk. It reminded me of that so much that it was hard for me to stand my ground.
Geoffry turned around, laughing. He started to walk away, but he turned around and pretended he was going to throw something at me, making me flinch. He laughed more and walked off.

What a jerk.

Cool With A "K" PART 17 - CHAPTER 4

Since everyone was kind of mad at me about the whole hike thing, I decided to let them pick our next destination. I was kind of shocked that they didn't pick staying at a hotel. Oh, wait, they didn't know about that hotel.... Shh, don't tell.
Geoffry suggested going to the beach a couple miles away from camp. We went, which seemed a little pointless. Chris can't swim and I knew Alice wouldn't wear a swimsuit, especially in front of Geoffry. She hadn't known him for very long and hated the idea of swimsuits in general (Ah, so modest).
At the beach, I sat in the water, enjoying the water and nice weather. I was kind of going to be swimming alone. I mean, Geoffry was supposedly going to swim too, but I don't care
about him.
Chris and Alice sat side-by-side in the exact same position in their lawn chairs. They both had on sunglasses and fashion magazines. Classic.
And then Geoffry came out....
My jaw dropped and I cringed. Oh no.... I knew it, I knew he was a creep.
"Hey, Chris." Geoffry grinned stupidly. Chris looked up from his magazine and gaped at Geoffry, who was wearing a speedo. I would've cracked up, but I was in too much shock for that.
Chris's face flushed and he closed his eyes, "Um.... Hi, Geoffry."
Geoffry grinned more and Chris said, his eyes still closed, "Um, Sweetie? What... What are you wearing?"
Geoffry smirked at Chris, reminding me of Leo, "You like it?"
Chris's face reddened more and he tried to find a way to answer, "Uhhh......"
Alice glanced at Chris nervously, feeling sorry for him.
Geoffry cocked his head to the side, "Where's your swimsuit? Don't you want to go swimming, Babe?"
I almost died laughing. Geoffry called Chris 'Babe'! Hahahaha- Wait. Oh no, he did not! I tried to be mad, but I was laughing too hard.
Chris blushed even more as Speedo Geoffry grinned at him. He took a deep breath and said, "Sorry, Geoffry. I don't swim."
Geoffry looked disappointed, but he soon smiled again, "Okay then, I can just come sit by you guys."
Chris opened his mouth to protest, but Geoffry sat down next to him, sitting really.... weirdly.
Chris's face was red as a red bell pepper now. He turned to Alice, smiling nervously,
"Hey, Alice. Do you want to go get a pretzel?"
Alice shook her head, "No thanks, Chris. I had a big lunch."
Chris clenched his teeth, his eyes wide and desperate, "Hey, Alice." He repeated, speaking very clearly, "I bet you want to go get a pretzel, don't you?"
Alice glanced at Geoffry and nodded, making an 'oh' face, "O-okay, sure, I'm really hungry all of a sudden."
Why is everyone I know so bad at lying?
Geoffry stood up along with them, "Oh, I like pretzels. I'll come with you."
"No!" Chris said suddenly, blushing at his own rudeness, "Um, I mean...." He laughed, "You don't like pretzels, Geoffry."
Chris tried as hard as he could to stay focused on Geoffry's face, but Speedos seem to have this awkward, unappealing spell....
Geoffry cocked his head stupidly and Chris smiled sweetly at him, "Good boy."
Chris patted Geoffry's head and turned to follow Alice to the snack bar. Geoffry sat down, but after thinking for a second, called to them, "Hey... I like pretzels. I should go get one."
"Oh, I'll get you one, Honey!" Chris called to him, clenching his teeth and blushing furiously. Geoffry came and stood by me, "Mind if I join you?"
I tried not to grimace and reluctantly shook my head. Geoffry splashed around stupidly in the water until Alice and Chris got back.
Geoffry went and sat down by Chris, taking a pretzel, "Thanks, Chris." He smiled stupidly and Chris smiled back a little. As awkward as the situation was, he still loved Geoffry.
They sat in silence for a while and I pretended to be playing in the water, but I wanted to see what would happen. I felt kind of heartless. Well, at least I have a good sense of humor.
Geoffry lightly grasped Chris's thigh with his hand and Chris whirled around in alarm, "What?"
Geoffry giggled, "That was funny."
What a genius. Great taste in men, Chris. He's a keeper!
Not much else happened at the beach. We went back to camp and we all seemed to forget the whole thing. Chris was instantly back to holding Geoffry's hand and chattering stupidly to him. Uhg. Well, I can't say it isn't better then Geoffry in a Speedo.

We survived two days of camping. Let's see how long we can go before we crack.

Cool With A "K" PART 17 - CHAPTER 3

I hoped day two would go better. It didn't, really. I woke up to Geoffry, Chris, and Alice, sitting on a long log and Geoffry was cooking vegetables over a newly-built fire. Oh, you have got to be kidding me....
I got dressed in my tent and walked over to them.
"Hey, guys." I said when they didn't notice me.
Alice looked up from the food, "Oh, hi, Angie."
I gestured to our breakfast, "Um.... Geoffry cooked?" I was fine with Chris and Alice cooking or me cooking....
Geoffry nodded sheepishly and Chris playfully slapped his shoulder, "Oh, don't be so modest! You did an excellent job, Honey!" Are you serious?
Not convinced, I sat down by Alice and picked up a skewer, biting into the vegetables. Oh my god! It was freaking delicious! I sighed, grinning stupidly.
Geoffry beamed, "So, you like it too?"
I snapped out of it and said cooly, "Um... Yeah, it's okay."
Geoffry, Alice, and Chris spent the next forty minutes or so talking.... and talking... and talking. I sat only a few feet away from them, but they took no notice of me, they were too busy absorbing Geoffry's perfectness. I wanted to throw a rock at his head.
I stood up and said loudly, "Okay, Campers! I think it's a good time for some camping activities!" Chris crossed his arms, looking at me like I was crazy. Geoffry and Alice exchanged looks. Neither of them looked like they wanted to do any 'camping activities', but they didn't scowl at me like Chris.
I grinned stupidly, "Come on, let's go!"
Chris groaned, standing up and brushing off his shorts, "You sound like Dora the explorer."
"Yep, now come on." I said, already heading into the woods.
Alice nervously said from behind me, "Um, Angie?"
"Hm?"
"Where.... Where are we going, exactly?" She said quietly.
I shrugged, "I don't know."
I could feel three pairs of eyes on me. Chris's scowl, Alice's nervous eyes, Geoffry's awkward, confused expression.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Geoffry take Chris's hand. I really wanted to throw a rock at his head. I actually had one in my backpack, a big one, just in case.... Ha ha ha! I wouldn't do that.... But one can never be too careful.
I gritted my teeth, trying hard not to get mad. "Hey, how about we go on a hike?"
My friends (and Geoffry) all stared at me. "Are... are you serious?" Alice stuttered.
"Heck yeah!" I laughed, patting her on the back. "Let's go!"
We all had our backpacks, which was pretty stupid, but we did. Geoffry carried Princess Chris's backpack for a while, but Alice and I both carried our own.
After we were a few miles away from camp, it started pouring. We walked back, in the rain, soaking wet.
We all sat, huddled around a campfire that Mr. Wonderful had made. I smiled, "Isn't this fun?"
Everyone glared at me, even Mr. I-Never-Get-Mad-At-Anyone. I shrugged, laughing nervously. Crap, now they were all gonna hate me.

This was not as fun as I had hoped.

Cool With A "K" PART 17 - CHAPTER 2

We went straight to bed.... after I put up the tents, which added an extra hour. After making sure everyone was in their own tent, I collapsed. I was so tired, I fell asleep instantly.

Alice stepped carefully among the wet leaves and grass, the dew and dirt soaking through her slippers. She sighed, hating her situation. Alice held up the hem of her pale yellow nightgown, holding it above the wet, brown ground.
She soon stood in front of her worst enemy here; The outhouse.
Alice took a deep breath and pulled a tissue out of her pocket, using it to open the door. She cringed, the smell was awful.
Reluctantly, she stepped inside. She was about to sit down when she saw something move... Alice's eyes widened to an inhuman size as she stared at it....

I was sound asleep when I heard a blood-curdling scream. I bolted upright, ready for anything. I looked at my watch; 3:24 a.m.
"Chris?" I said loudly, expecting he had done something stupid or had a nightmare, something along those lines.
I stepped out of my tent, pulling my hoodie on over my green pajamas. I picked up my flashlight and shined it around the camp grounds.
Taking a lucky guess, I slowly walked over to the outhouse. "Hello?" I called cautiously. I walked around to the open side of the outhouse. The door was open and Alice was standing in front of the toilet, staring down into it. Well, that was kind of weird.
I stepped forward, "Alice?"
She swallowed and whimpered. I walked up next to her, shining the flashlight down the toilet. To my surprise, I saw what Alice had screamed at. A freaking huge rat was inside the toilet! I couldn't believe it, a rat!
"Angie? Alice?" I heard Chris say from the other side of the campsite.
Chris and Geoffry came over to us and Chris said, a concerned, tired look on his face, "Hey, what's wrong?"
"Shh." I said, not taking my eyes off the rat in the toilet.
Chris and Geoffry followed my eyes, widening theirs. Chris pointed to the huge black rat, "I-is that... a... a..."
Alice swallowed, her eyes wide, "Yes, it's.... a rat... in the toilet."
Geoffry grimaced and glanced at Chris. Seeing his freaked out expression, Geoffry and I both reached for Chris's hand. Geoffry beat me to it, which pissed me off, but I tried hard not to show it. Good luck with that.
"Back away slowly...." I said, taking a few steps back. Alice, Chris, and Geoffry all did the same.
Suddenly, all four of us fell backward. A chorus of screams arose as we fell into a small bog that we hadn't noticed in the dark. We all flapped around frantically, trying to keep as much of our bodies out of the mucky water as possible. I didn't even think about myself, my first thought was Chris. He can't swim.
I broke from the surface, looking through the water for my brother, panicking.
"Chris!" I yelled, getting a kick of panicked adrenaline. I heard coughing and whirled around. I couldn't believe my eyes, Geoffry had pulled Chris out of the bog and brought him to solid ground. I didn't know whether to be grateful or kick his butt for saving my brother before I could.
Geoffry had Chris sitting in his lap and he was patting his back. Chris coughed up the grossest water I had ever seen and I felt bad for him. Suddenly, I remembered Alice. Oh god, Alice!
I looked around frantically, my head refilling with a feeling of panic. I saw bubbles, oh god. Without thinking, I dove under the water and felt around. My hand brushed against something; fabric.
I pulled on it hard and brought it above water. I had grabbed onto Alice's nightgown.
I pulled her up onto the ground and flung my arms around her, "Oh, thank God!" I cried.
She was out cold. Oh, please, no....
Alice's skin, hair, and clothes were covered in brown muck. I didn't care, I was covered in it too. I put my ear against her chest and grasped her wrist, feeling for a pulse.
"Alice! Come on, Alice, wake up!" My voice cracked as my brain went over the worst case scenario.
Chris opened his eyes and he noticed us. He gasped and ran over to us, "Alice! Oh god, Angie! What's.... what...."
I shook my head, "I don't know...." I felt completely helpless, I didn't know what to do. Tears welled up in my eyes and I fought them back.
She's not dead, Angie... I thought, trying to comfort myself.
Geoffry stood up and walked over to us, gently taking Alice's limp form from my arms. I was hesitant to let her go, but I didn't know what else to do.
Right there in front of us, Geoffry pushed hard on Alice's stomach a few times and she started coughing up murky water. Chris and I sat in front of them, shocked and horrified. Tears fell from my eyes with relief, even though that was probably the grossest thing I've ever seen.
Alice sat up and coughed more. She opened her eyes, looking at us blankly.
As if it had all came back to her suddenly, Alice's eyes got wide and she threw her arms around Chris and I, sobbing. We patted her back and said things like, "It's okay, you're alright."
Geoffry stood a few feet away from us awkwardly. Chris noticed him and excused himself from Alice. He stood up and walked over to Geoffry.
"You... you saved my life." Chris said, smiling in awe at Geoffry. Oh, please! I could've done that.
Geoffry smiled sheepishly, "Um, yeah. I did."
Chris smiled and threw his arms around Geoffry, "You saved me! A-and Alice, too!"
Alice looked confused and her face lit up in surprise. She too ran over to hug him.
Make me throw up, please do.
Alice and Chris started babbling to Geoffry about how great he was and I half wished he had drowned in the bog. But maybe I should be thankful, I thought, I mean, he saved my brother and my best friend. I should be happy.
I stood a few yards away from them, feeling uncomfortable.
Alice then realized that she was covered in thick, mucky grime.
Seeing her look at her nightgown in horror, Chris put his arm around her shoulders, "Don't worry, Honey. We'll get you cleaned up."
Alice swallowed and nodded slowly as Chris and Geoffry escorted her to a nearby park building. They left me standing by myself, like I was invisible.
My heart sunk. How does that song go? Cellophane, Mister Cellophane, should've been my name, Mister Cellophane....
I felt like tying stones to my legs and letting myself sink way beneath the surface of the bog, forgetting this stupid place.
Miserable, I dragged myself to the park building.

I hate this.

Cool With A "K" PART 17 - CHAPTER 1

Chris came and sat down by me on the living room couch, "Hey, Angiiieee!" He said, smiling and handing me a glass of orange juice. He wanted something.
"Just spit it out, what do you want from me?" I said flatly.
Chris let out a breath and said quickly, "Geoffry invited me to come with him on a four-day road trip with him over break, can I go pleaaaaaseeee?"
Oh, hell no.
Chris bit his lip and waited for me to answer.
I almost choked on my orange juice and I said loudly, "What? No! Oh no! No."
"Why? Please?" Chris begged.
I shook my head, "No way, little brother, too dangerous."
Chris snorted, "Dangerous? Seriously, Angela, you have the wrong idea about Geoffry..."
"And what if I don't?" I snapped, "You can not go on that road trip, Chris!... Not by yourself."
Chris's eyes lit up. Uh oh. "What? Does that mean- does that....?"
I gritted my teeth, "No, Chris. I am not going with you! Not!"

"Come on, Angie! Don't take so long!" Chris leaned over Alice's shoulder and beeped the car horn repeatedly.
"Chris, stop that!" Alice said, gently pushing him into the backseat.
I opened the front door, my backpack slung over my shoulder. I dragged my feet as I walked to Alice's car as slowly as I could. Alice, Chris, Geoffry, and I were going on a road trip over spring break. I had insisted on taking Alice with because I couldn't babysit Chris and Geoffry without her. Plus, I was not going to ride for four and a half hours in Geoffry's crappy Maverick. I don't know why I trusted Alice's million-year-old yellow Pinto any more, but I just did.
I reluctantly got into the passenger seat, next to Alice. Chris and Geoffry were sitting in the back seat, holding hands and blabbing about how fun this was going to be! Chris was dressed in a powder blue button-up with the sleeves rolled up, khaki shorts, and completed oh so fashionably with a pale pink bandana tied around his neck. What a dweeb. Geoffry was wearing.... Well, I just don't care enough to describe him.
I know we seem a little young to go a road trip without adults, but there's four of us, what could possibly go wrong?

We had been on the road for about thirty minutes and I was already fidgeting. I glanced at Chris and Geoffry in the rear view mirror; They were talking quietly and giggling. Geoffry leaned toward Chris, like he was gonna kiss him...
I clapped my hands together loudly and said cheerfully, "Well, I think it's about time for some road trip songs, don't you?" I laughed stupidly, hoping no one heard my sigh of relief as Geoffry backed off. Chris was looking at me like I was an idiot.
I laughed again, "Come on, let's sing!"
"Angie, are you sure this is a good..." Alice said quietly.
"There was a farmer who had a dog and Bingo was his name-o!" I started singing loudly, sounding like a total moron.
"B, I, N, G, O...." My voice trailed off as I looked around at everyone. Alice was glancing nervously at me, but keeping her eyes on the road. Chris was looking at me anxiously, looking annoyed. Geoffry just looked confused.
Chris sighed, "How about not that?"
After a slight pause, Chris started singing Tik Tok by Keisha, Alice and Geoffry joining in.
I groaned, "Chris, that's such a stupid song. It's just about some girl getting drunk and partying all night."
They all stopped singing and Chris thought about this, saying, "You're right, Angela. Do you have any suggestions? Rock-A-Bye Baby? Kumbaya? 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall?"
He was making fun of me.
I laughed nervously, "Oh, you know that one song.... na blah blah hurts to know the truth, beneath your perfume and makeup..." I sang, looking at Chris in the mirror and saying sharply, "You're just a baby in disguise.... is that how that song goes?"
Chris scowled at me, "I know what you're doing! Just drop it, Ange! He's not like that!"
I turned around to face my brother, "Oh, please! You don't know anything!"
"Why do you have to be like that, Angie?"
"You're like that too sometimes!"
"Leave me alone!"
"Oh, you couldn't last a day without me!"
"Of course I could! Just let me have my own life!" Chris yelled at me.
I laughed hollowly, "You sound like some stupid teenager! Oh, wait- You are some stupid teenager!"
We started screaming at each other and Alice yelled over us, "GUYS! STOP IT!" That got us quiet, Alice doesn't yell much.
"You guys, just.... stop." Alice said, "We haven't been in this trip for an hour and you're already fighting. Come on, you're never like this."
We sat in silence for a while after that.
Chris said softly, "I've learned a few Beatles tunes. Everyone likes the Beatles, right?"
"No." I said flatly. He either didn't hear me or just ignored my comment.
Chris started singing All My Loving. Geoffry and Alice joined in, "Close your eyes and I'll kiss you, tomorrow I'll miss you. Remember, I'll always be truuuueeee...."
I slouched down in my seat, hating the song choice and regretting ever saying yes to going on this stupid trip.

It had been almost five hours and Alice said, "So, Angie, where do I turn now?"
I pointed to the left, "That way."
She turned the way I pointed and we came to a foresty area.
"What now? Do I turn around-" Alice said, but I interrupted her.
"No! Just go through there." I said. Everyone turned to look at me.
"What?" Chris said, "In the forest?"
I laid back in my seat, "I know what I'm doing." I grinned to myself and Alice reluctantly steered the car into the forest.
We came to a sign that said, Brown Toad Campgrounds. What an appealing name.
"Oh, oh! Turn here." I said excitedly.
Alice did as I told her and we came to a gravel parking lot. Chris and Geoffry exchanged a look and I grinned.
"Okay, here's good." I directed Alice and she parked.
We all got out of the car and Chris put one hand on his hip, the other shading his eyes from the sun. "What is this place?"
I pulled our bags out of the tiny trunk of Alice's Pinto, "Campgrounds!" I said enthusiastically.
All three of my companions looked at me questioningly. I said, "Wait- none of you guys have ever been camping?"
"Well, I have," Chris said, "In second grade, Cub Scouts."
"Oh, I remember that..." I said, feeling a little guilty.
Chris nodded, "And that kid put that raccoon in my sleeping bag..."
Alice and I snorted. Of course, Mr. Wonderful didn't. He just looked pitifully at Chris, feeling sorry for him. The sap.
Alice said, "No, I've never gone camping."
Geoffry shook his head, "Me neither."
I laughed, "Well, then! Here's your chance! The great outdoors...." I said cheesily, "Sitting under the stars, sleeping in four separate tents...." I tried to make the last part very clear even though I didn't think anything that bad could....
I turned to face them, beaming, "Go to the bathroom in the woods!"
All three of them gasped and I said, "I'm kidding. There's a outhouse."
Alice swallowed, "An... outhouse?"
I nodded excitedly, "Yeah!"
They didn't look too excited.
I nodded enthusiastically, "Come on, let's go find a place to sleep!" I ran off into the woodsier area at the edge of the cheap parking lot.
Chris gave Alice a I-can't-believe-you-let-her-do-this-to-me look and she shrugged.
"Um... c-come on, Chris. Let's go with her." Alice reached for his hand and he rudely pulled it away, taking Geoffry's hand instead.
Feeling a little hurt, Alice slowly followed us.

Cool With A "K" PART 16 - CHAPTER 14

I was surprised Mouse had lasted so long on the cheerleading squad. It was beyond me how and why she didn't quit. Heck, it was beyond me how and why she joined in the first place! I just couldn't get it through my head why she would do something like that. Mouse hated every one of the cheerleaders. Oh, wait, that's not true. Mouse hates every one of the cheerleaders.....

Except for Lydia.

Cool With A "K" PART 16 - CHAPTER 13

I went to Harold's house on Friday. I knocked on the door and Harold answered it. "Oh, uh hi, Angela." He said, gesturing for me to come in.
I smiled, "Hey." I said, stepping through the door.
We stood in silence for a minute and Harold said, "So, um... D-do you want to go to my room?..... or something..."
Harold's Mom called something in Japanese from the kitchen and Harold started blushing furiously. "Mom!" He said, saying something back in Japanese.
"Uhhh...." I said stupidly, "Sure?"
Harold nodded, "Um, o-okay." He directed me to a small room at the end of the hall. It was kind of weird, you know, tanish walls, shelves full of crap that Harold didn't care enough about to put away or sort. It was pretty much the exact opposite of Chris's room; It was messy, cluttered, dully colored.... Did I mention you can't see the floor?
Harold turned to me, a grin breaking across his face, "So, wanna see my collection of torn-in-half-by-something-or-other butterflies?"
I blinked, confused. "Uh... Sure..." I ventured. Wow, this kid was weirder then I thought.
Harold pulled a huge glass case out from under his bed. It was full of butterflies; Halves... Halves of butterflies. He picked them up one-by-one, explaining exactly what it was that tore each butterfly in half. I nodded with mock approval, unable to believe that there was someone on this planet that had a collection of torn in half butterflies. Maybe Chris was right, maybe Harold did have a mental disorder.
Harold beamed at me stupidly, "So, what do you think?"
I nodded, smiling tightly. Didn't Harold know anything about girls? Well, he probably didn't, but isn't it kind of common sense that sophomore girls often don't take interest in a dead bug collection?
Harold showed me a variety of other weird things and I pretended to think they were interesting. After I while, I went home.
When I arrived home, Chris was waiting on the couch. "Hi, Angie! How'd it go?"
"I thought you went to that butterfly thing with Geoffry." I remarked.
Chris nodded, "Yeah, I did. It was pretty awesome. I just got home a half hour ago."
He sat me down on the couch and said enthusiastically, "So, what happened? Was he romantic?"
I snorted, thinking of Harold and his butterfly collection, "Harold? Romantic? I think something is wrong with your head. Did your boyfriend brainwash you?"
Chris looked disappointed, "So, nothing interesting happened?"
"You didn't ask me if anything interesting happened, you asked if anything romantic happened?"
Chris smirked at me, "Is there that big of a difference?"
I rolled my eyes, "Well, this was interesting and if you'd call it romantic, then go ahead, but you're crazy."
Chris nodded excitedly, scooting closer to me to hear my answer.
I grinned, "He showed me his collection of ripped up butterflies."
Chris gaped in horror. Oh yeah, he had just come back from a butterfly exhibit, making it worse. I laughed at his expression and he stuttered, "B-butterflies? All ripped up and dead? But, but..."
I laughed and stood up, patting Chris's shoulder as I went down the hall to my room, "Night, Chris."
"Night..." He said, staring at the T.V. (which was turned off at the moment).

Chris sat in the living room, thinking about butterflies, for the next twenty-six minutes.

Cool With A "K" PART 16 - CHAPTER 12

I needed something to worry about..... besides Mouse. Anything besides Mouse, please. What should I get myself into so I have to worry about it....? Mabel? Oh, please, God, no. I want something to distract me from Mouse that does not include possible injuries *crosses ten people off the list*
Hmm..... Geoffry? Yuck, no. He's Chris's problem. What about Harold? Harold! Yeah.... but, how would that be something to worry about? Uhg! This paranoia thing is harder than I thought!

Chris walked into the boys bathroom at school and he saw something that he found rather odd... A MONSTER!!!!...... No, not really. Harold was sitting in the corner, facing the wall and talking at normal volume. He was saying things like, "Oh, yeah. Well, I don't really know, she doesn't really like me." and "No, I don't fit in very well." and "Oh, that's my favorite color too!"
Chris raised an eyebrow at him. Was Harold talking to imaginary friends? Chris didn't even know, but he did know that Harold took absolutely no notice of him.
Chris considered making Harold snap out of it, but he just smiled and left the room, deciding to use the second floor bathroom.

Harold walked up to Leo, looking nervous. "H-hey, Leo?"
When Leo turned around, Harold wiped the nervous look off his face and managed a grin. "Hey, you like movies?"
Leo grimaced, "Sorry, kid, I'm straight. Thanks for the offer though, I know I'm kind of irresistible." Harold's face flushed and he shook his head, stuttering, "N-no! That's not what I meant at all! I just have some extra tickets...."
Leo eyed him suspiciously and Harold held out the tickets. He said, "You can take a friend with you, or a girl, but I don't know if girls would really like it...."
Leo gasped when he saw the tickets, his face lighting up, "You got porno tickets? Dude! How'd you get these?"
Harold didn't know what to say, he had gotten them from the football team, "Oh, uh..." He said, trying to think of some cool-sounding excuse, "You know, I have my ways."
Leo was stupid enough to settle with that and grinned, "So, you're just giving them to me?"
Harold nodded quickly, "Uh-huh. No scam, no nothing, just take 'em."
Leo patted Harold's back, "Thanks, man! Trust me, you've done a good thing." He ran off, almost squealing with excitement.
Once Leo was out of sight, Harold whispered to himself, "One down, four to go."

"Hey, Chris!" Harold said, trying to sound enthusiastic. Hesitating, Chris turned around, firing a untrusting look at Harold. He smiled tightly, "Hi, Harold. What is it that you want?"
Harold swallowed nervously, hoping his plan would work. "Um, hey... I just....."
Chris raised an eyebrow at him, pursing his lips, "Sorry, Harold."
Harold cocked his head, "What?"
Chris sighed, sounding annoyed, "No, Harold. You're not my type and if you're asking me out than I decline your offer."
Harold blushed and shook his head violently, "N-no, that's not what I...." Why did everyone think he was asking them out? Was he really that shaky?
Chris looked annoyed and said, "Good. Now, what do you want."
Harold sighed, starting to loose his patience, "Okay. I heard there's this awesome exhibit at the science museum on Central Avenue about.... butterflies. T-this friday."
Chris studied Harold, looking him up and down suspiciously as he always did.
After a somewhat long, extremely awkward silence, Chris spoke, "Butterflies?"
Harold nodded cautiously and was surprised to see a smile slowly spread across Chris's face.
"Is that so?" Chris said, smiling at Harold, which was kind of alien to Harold. Harold nodded and Chris said, "Thank you, I'll be sure to check that out."
He reached out to pat Harold's shoulder, but recoiled, remembering that he wasn't a particular fan of Harold. Instead, Chris walked away, leaving Harold sighing with relief, Chris would've been the hardest. Now, the next victim.

Mouse was pretty easy. All Harold had to do was make a fake ad that said, Big sale at Gamestop, Friday the 20th and Mouse bought it. This was a little dull for her, but she was probably just pretending to believe him so he would leave her alone. Mouse too thought Harold was asking her out, which disturbed her greatly. She figured he was too pathetic to beat up for 'attempting to ask her out on a date'. Harold still didn't understand why everyone thought that.

Alice was easy too, she was already babysitting her cousin that day. Perfect. Jamie was going to the mall with her friend, Crystal. Again, perfect.
Harold grinned, his mission was almost complete.

"Hey, Angela?" Harold said nervously.
I smiled at him, "Hi, Harold."
Harold laughed nervously and said, blushing a bit, "Hey, Angela.... um.... D-do you and your friends want to come over to my house this Friday?"
I sighed, smiling politely, "Oh, sorry, Harold. They're all busy on Friday." It just occurred to me what a weird coincidence it was that they were all busy, even Chris. He was taking Geoffry to this weird butterfly thing at a museum.
Harold looked up at me and said slowly, ".... Well, then... Maybe you could just come...."
I thought about this; I wasn't busy that day. I nodded, "Sure, I'm free on Friday."
Harold smiled a little, chuckling, "Really? You'll come? Seriously?"
I nodded, "Sure, I'll come."
Harold grinned, "I-I'll see you later then. Bye bye." With that, he ran off. Typical. Sometimes I couldn't remember who was the one with the stutter, Lydia or Harold.

Okay then, I was going to Harold's house on Friday.

Cool With A "K" PART 16 - CHAPTER 11

Stephanie stood in the middle of the filed while all the other cheerleaders sat in the bleachers. "Okay, girls. We're learning a new routine today." She said, gesturing for them to come out onto the filed.
Once they were all down, Stephanie turned on the radio and I Kissed A Girl by Katy Perry started playing.
Mouse groaned, "I hate this song!"
Stephanie smirked at her, "Ironic."
Mouse was a little bit taken aback by this, as well as surprised. "What do you mean...?" She started to say, but Stephanie had already started the new routine. It was a lot harder than usual and a lot..... dirtier. Mouse was not fond of this routine at all, this one bothered her more than the others. The team usually didn't do routines anywhere near sexual, but this one was. Mouse tried to follow along anyway, but she hated it more than usual. After all, she had to stay on the team, otherwise, when would she be able to see Lydia? She wasn't in any of Mouse's classes.
Mouse shook her head, trying to forget the thought.
When the routine was over, Mouse said loudly, "That routine was horrible!"
Stephanie scowled at her and, smiling, Kathy said, "I loved it! It was great!"
Stephanie looked over her cheerleaders and said, "Girls?"
All of them nodded and said they liked the new routine, except for Mouse.
Stephanie turned back to Mouse, smiling evilly, "I win."
She walked off the filed and Mouse whispered, "Over my dead body."

Cool With A "K" PART 16 - CHAPTER 10

"And then I said, 'Girl, are you serious? That top with that skirt? Are you kidding?' and she slapped me! I mean, I was just pointing out her hideous fashion mistake and she took it the wrong way!" Chris was blabbing on and on to Alice and I about some poor girl that he had lectured about how bad her clothes were and she slapped him.
"And you know what I said? I said, 'Hey, you do not have the right to slap me! That's just uncivil and rude!' and guess what she said. She said that I was rude to her first!" Chris went on, totally unaware of Kathy, who was coming up behind him. "I'll tell you, I do not think I deserved that- KKAAGHHHH!!!"
Kathy jumped onto Chris's back, practically choking him to death. "Hi, Chris!!! How are you today?" She hollered in his ear.
"Kathy! Get off!" Chris choked out, Kathy let go of him and got off his back.
Chris straightened his hair and turned to Kathy, his hands on his hips. "Kathy, why do you think it's okay to do that? It's rude and would not be considered socially exceptable."
Kathy beamed at us and said innocently, "Well, that's what my sister, Lizzy, always does. If she sees a guy on the street or in the mall that she likes, she just goes up to him and kisses him. Just like this!"
Kathy grabbed Chris's collar and tried to kiss him, but he pulled away. As if nothing had happened, Kathy continued her theory, "So, she would kiss him and he would like it and she would say," She leaned in toward Leo, putting her hand up like she was telling a secret, "Hey, do you want to come back to my place?"
Chris wrinkled his nose in disgust and Kathy went on, "He would say yes and they would go to our house, and then....." She let her voice trail off and she held her hand to her mouth, like she was surprised.
Chris gaped at her in horror and she went on, describing a few things that I won't explain here.... This was too much for Chris. He suddenly put his hand over his mouth and ran to a nearby garbage can, hurling into it.
"Aw, crap!" I said, exasperated. I jogged over to help Chris.
Leo held up his hands in confusion, "Why is Chris throwing up?" He said stupidly.
I said, "He's very sensitive. Sensitive stomach, sensitive childish mind..."
Leo sat down on a bench, gesturing for Kathy to sit next to him, "Go on, Angel. I'm listening."
Kathy sat down next to him, continuing her story, but a little quieter.
"You know, I have five brothers and sisters." Kathy said, "Sometimes I think my little brother, Joey, is kind of nuts, but aren't we all?" How ironic. Kathy laughed and Leo tried to laugh with her.
Not sure what to do, Alice looked back and forth between us. Hmm... What to choose? My best friend barfing into a garbage can or a wacko chick telling us about her wacko chick sister? Oh, so hard to choose....
Alice ended up choosing the third option, walking away from both of us.

Well, that was interesting.

Cool With A "K" PART 16 - CHAPTER 9

At lunch the next day, Mouse sat down at the table; There was a girl with her. The girl had dark hair and bright blue eyes. Mouse was helping her to the table (the girl was limping). Geez, why are so many people suddenly sitting with us? I mean, I'm not trying to be rude, it's just weird. Mabel stopped sitting with us after Geoffry and Chris got together.
The magical Geoffry himself didn't really sit with us as much anymore, but he sometimes did. He didn't really come over much, but he and Chris were definitely still 'together'. They always passed love notes in class, you could tell they were love notes because Chris would blush whenever he read them. It was still rather annoying, actually, but I tried hard not to let it bother me....
They had friendly arguments occasionally, like the one about whether Lady Gaga was an alien or not. Geoffry said she was and Chris went all 'oh no you didn't' on him. But enough about them, yuck...
Mouse and the new girl sat down at the table. Alice, Leo, Chris, and I waited patiently for Mouse to introduce her.
"Oh, uh, yeah." Mouse said, "She didn't have anywhere to sit.... Um, this is Lydia Wood." Hmm... It was unlike Mouse to introduce someone using both their first and last name, or anything polite, for that matter.
Lydia smiled pleasantly and said, "H-hello." Oh, I knew who she was! I hadn't recognized her at first because she was the new girl, from Alabama. She came to our school just last week and she had a speech impediment. You just learn these things when you go to my nosy school.
Alice smiled back, "Hi, I'm Alice. It's nice to meet you. New friend, Mouse?"
"Yes." Mouse said quickly, "Um- I mean... acquaintance... not really, ummm...."
Lydia blinked, looking confused. Mouse was blushing furiously, which was something that was about as common as an solar eclipse. We were all so confused....
Chris cocked his head, "Um, you okay, Mouse?" He reached across the table and put his hand on her face, "You look flushed."
Mouse backed away, saying defensively, "I'm fine!"
We all stared at her with concern and she quickly started eating her lunch.

I saw Mouse talking to Lydia again a day later, they were both wearing orange cheerleading uniforms. So that was how Mouse met her, cheerleading. I still couldn't completely gather the fact that Mouse was a cheerleader, I laugh every time I think about it.
Mouse was almost stuttering as much as Lydia, which was just beyond weird to me. Mouse was never nervous and she had never cared about anyone else's feelings before..... What was going on? Now here's a question for you, folks. What do you do when you can't get something through that thick skull of yours?..... Da da da daaa! Time to talk to Chris the Therapist!
"What the heck is going on with Mouse, Chris?" I asked my brother/therapist, "She's been acting all weird lately and.... and....."
Chris cleared his throat and I stopped talking. He nodded and said, "I know, she has been acting weird. I think those walking perfume shops have gotten her brain-washed." He turned to me, "The cheerleaders."
I nodded, "Yeah, I got that."
Chris continued, adjusting his glasses (reading glasses), "You know what's wrong with young Mouse, don't you, Angela?"
I shook my head slowly and Chris put his hand on my shoulder, sighing lightly. He said, smiling, "I think our Mousey just might have a little crush."
I was surprised to hear this, "On Lydia?"
Chris nodded, "Maybe so. That's the only thing I can think of."
I thought about this, not knowing what to say. I hadn't even considered the thought, I had sometimes wondered if Mouse was asexual (not attracted to either boys or girls), but I had never thought......
"Are you sure?" I asked Chris.
He shook his head, "Of course not, it's just an educated guess. I could be completely wrong, I could be exactly right, I could be somewhere in between."
I sighed, my brain was racing. "I'll see you on the bus, Chris."
"What?" Chris said as I stood up, "Don't you want to stay and chat?"
"Thanks, but no thanks, Chris." I said. I had had enough of this and just wanted to think about something else.

Was Mouse in love with Lydia? That would be weird.... And why pick Lydia out of all people?

Cool With A "K" PART 16 - CHAPTER 8

Kathy ran up to Chris excitedly, screaming, "Hey, Chris!"
Chris jumped, putting his hand in his heart, "Kathy! You scared me! Oh, what do you want." He tried not to sound too rude.
Kathy looked at him excitedly, "Hey, Chris. Um, well, I was wondering...."
Chris sighed, but let her go on. Kathy giggled, blushing, "Do you want to go out with me this weekend?"
Chris sighed again, shaking his head. Kathy's smile faded and Chris put his hand on her shoulder. Lowering his voice, Chris said as politely as he could, "I'm sorry, Kathy, but I've already told you, nine times as of now, that I have a boyfriend. I don't want to go out with you, okay? I'm sorry, but I don't love you. You're just going to have to except that." He smiled kindly, patting her shoulder.
Chris almost felt bad, seeing Kathy look so sad, but he tried to ignore it. In case Kathy got angry,  Chris turned and walked off, leaving her standing in the hallway.... alone.

"Chris, I think Kathy is staring at you." Leo said, leaning over to see past Chris and Alice. Chris and Alice turned around to look and quickly turned back.
"Oh my gosh, you're right." Alice said. Chris was looking around nervously, leaning down and close to the table.
We all glanced back at Kathy, except for Chris. She was sitting a few tables away and she was holding a metal fork, bending it with two fingers. There was a surprising look of hatred in her eyes. Everyone kind of assumed Kathy was just a psychopath, but maybe not. I know this sounds bad, but I wasn't really used to Kathy having any feelings besides OMG-I-love-you-Chris mode.
Now, Kathy was definitely not in that mode. She was burning holes in the back of Chris's head and tears filled her eyes. This wasn't a look I recognized, but Chris, however....
Chris turned around to look at her. Instead of just whipping back around in fear, he stared back at her. He had a kind of 'I'm not going to hurt you' look on his face, a sincere look. Kathy's face softened, but she hardened it back up and scowled more.
"That was what she looked like when I first met her." Chris said, almost a sad tone to his voice. I remembered when Chris had first met Kathy; She had been crying over some stupid guy and Chris came to comfort her. For a while they had been inseparable, then we realized what a wacko she was.
Kathy scowled at Chris, but he didn't flinch, he just watched her with that sincere look in his eyes. We all watched curiously too see what would happen next. Chris held up his hand and waved at Kathy, "Hi." He said softly.
Kathy's face softened again and she whimpered.
Chris nodded, "It's okay, I don't bite." Dude, are you serious? It was like some cheesy film were the nature freak stood in the bushes, trying to lure out some wild animal.
Kathy stared at him, tears still filling her eyes. Kathy has an interesting approach to feelings. When she cries, she doesn't try to hide it like most teenagers I know. Kathy let the tears run down her cheeks, what an emotional girl. What had Chris done to her? She knew that he had a boyfriend, he's told her eight times.
Chris put his hand down and hesitantly gestured for Kathy to come sit with us. A small smile crossed her face and I felt kind of bad for hating her.
Kathy stood up and ran over to us, hugging Chris. "I'm sorry I was mad, Chrissypoo!"
Chris hugged her back and laughed nervously, "I-it's okay, Kathy." He glanced at Alice and I for help and we shrugged. It was his problem now.
"Oh, you're so great, Chris!" Kathy gushed, "I WANNA MARRY YOOUUU!!!!"
Chris blushed a little, wrinkling his nose, but smiled tightly when Kathy looked at him.
With that settled, Kathy smiled and frolicked away.

What a weird kid.

Cool With A "K" PART 16 - CHAPTER 7

Mouse arrived at practice to see Lydia talking with Michelle. She was talking about something that happened at her old school, in Alabama, which didn't make any sense to Mouse. Michelle was nodding slowly, listening intensely to what Lydia was saying. Mouse, however, found it quite hard to listen to Lydia talk.
"A-and me and my friends w-would always g-go to this one store in the m-mall. Oh, we had s-so much fun th-there." Lydia struggled to pronounce the words, stuttering heavily.
Stephanie went up to them and said, "Come on, girls. Practice time."
"Y-yes, Stephanie." Lydia said, standing up. Mouse almost felt sorry for her, she was like Stephanie's little slave.
Stephanie studied Lydia and said, "What's wrong with you?"
Lydia looked confused and said, "W-what do you mean?"
Stephanie raised her eyebrows at Lydia and Lydia said, "Oh, the s-stutter?"
Stephanie nodded, sighing. Mouse wanted to punch her.
"Oh," Lydia said quietly, "S-speech impediment."
"Yeah, I know. I'm not stupid." Stephanie said, turning to Mouse, "Oh, speak of the devil."
Mouse scowled at her, "Nice to see you too. Are we gonna go through the routine, or what? You don't seem too eager to get things done here."
Stephanie walked up to Mouse, putting her face close to Mouse's. That was really starting to bother Mouse, they seemed to do that a lot.
Stephanie said, chuckling a little, "Oh, Mouse. You think you're so great, don't you?"
Mouse smirked, "Better than you, fo shiz."
Stephanie glared at Mouse, who grinned back at her like she knew everything.
Half doing it just to annoy Stephanie, Mouse snapped her fingers and said mockingly, "Lydie, Melon, come on, Routine Four."
Melonie scowled at Mouse, who stifled a laugh. Lydia wanted to laugh too, but she knew better.
The cheerleaders all got into formation, except for Stephanie, right behind Mouse. She started doing the routine, the others following her perfectly. Stephanie stood by the bleachers, watching Mouse with a look of pure hatred as she took her job. Mouse noticed her and grinned, not slowing the routine down.
Lydia stumbled and fell, Mouse stopped to help her, "Are you okay?"
Lydia blinked, a little confused, "Um, yeah. I'm f-fine. Th-thanks."
Mouse nodded, realizing that the other cheerleaders were staring at her.
"Okay," She cleared her throat, "On with the show."
Stephanie joined the group, taking lead and eyeing Mouse throughout practice.
Once practice was finished, Mouse saw Lydia sit on the bleachers, examining her ankle. Mouse swallowed and slowly went up to her, "Hey, are you alright?"
Lydia looked up, her blue eyes shining, "Oh, yeah. D-don't worry about me. I'll be ok-kay." Mouse nodded, looking concerned, "Um...." She said, at loss for words, "Are you sure? That ankle doesn't look too good." It was true, Lydia's ankle was bent at a slightly unnatural angle. Lydia sighed, "Okay, maybe I c-could you use some h-help."
Mouse helped her stand up and uncertainly put her arm around Lydia's waist, helping her walk.
Stephanie, Melonie, and the other cheerleaders watched them walk off to the school. The cheerleaders cocked their heads to the side.
"Why does Mouse keep helping her?" Gwen the cheerleader said, "I mean, Mouse isn't nice and Lydia isn't...... likable."
Melonie shook her head, "Who knows? I think she's just a freak."
Stephanie said, a small smile breaking across her lips, "Everyone just assumes that girl doesn't like boys or girls, but maybe they're wrong...." She chuckled evilly, the other cheerleaders studying her curiously.
Stephanie paused dramatically before saying, "I'm thinking maybe little Mousey is a lesbo."
The other cheerleaders gasped and started murmering.
"Or maybe she's bi!" One cheerleader cried, the others buzzing with excitement.
Stephanie smiled evilly, thinking about all the embarrassment she could cause for Mouse as she watched the showoff walk helpless little Lydia to the nurse.

This was going to be fun.

Cool With A "K" PART 16 - CHAPTER 6

"So, Leo, are you busy this Friday?" I asked Leo.
His face lit up, "Why do you ask? Are you aski-"
"I'm not asking you out, I was thinking about taking Chris to see this movie and Alice would come too, blah blah blah...."
Leo cringed, "Probably some stupid baby movie....."
He ran his fingers through his hair, "Ah, sorry, Ange, I told Michelle I would go to the school football game this Friday, she's cheerleading."
I shrugged and he said, "Wanna come? You can bring your baby, too."
I laughed, he was talking about Chris. "Sure. Can I bring Alice?"
"Yeah." Leo nodded.
I pursed my lips, 'What about Mouse? Is she coming?"
Leo shook his head, "Nah, I doubt it."

Oh, she came, alright.
Chris, Alice, and I sat down by Leo in the crowded bleachers. We waited for the game to start and talked. We watched as the cheerleaders came out and our eyes widened in shock.
My face turned pale and I cocked my head to the side, pointing at the cheerleaders, "Hey, is that...?"
Eyes wide, Leo swallowed and nodded, "Mouse....."
We all watched in shock as Mouse tripped over her feet, running onto the field with the other cheerleaders, dressed in an orange cheerleader uniform.
Chris and Leo suddenly burst out laughing.
Alice said, trying hard to fight back laughter, "Chris, that isn't funny! Don't laugh at her!"
She giggled and started laughing, I was right behind her.
We all sat in the bleachers, laughing our heads off at Mouse the cheerleader.
Then, they started their pre-game routine.
Our jaws dropped as every cheerleader including Mouse did a perfect, amazing routine.
Kathy was the flyer, which wasn't surprising. She was so skinny that the heaviest part of her was probably her hair. Her ponytail was probably about three feet long, maybe longer.
Leo watched in awe as Kathy's red hair flew around her (almost majestically) as she was tossed through the air, paying no attention to Mouse.
I was too surprised to roll my eyes at him.
Chris was still laughing his ass off, tears running down his cheeks.
"Oh my God, this is sooo going on youtube!" He hooted.
Chris took out his video camera and turned it on, filming the cheerleaders and closing up on Mouse several times.
Damn, the boy was really starting to think like Mouse, but I didn't object because I was comforted by the thought of Chris and I watching the video every night before bed and laughing about it until Dad made us shut up.
The routine ended and we all stood up, hollering at Mouse, "Yay, Mouseeeyyy!!!"
Mouse whirled around, the grin fading from her face when she saw us. Her face went pale and we called out, "Hey, Mousey! Go Mouse!"
We started laughing hard.
Mouse's eyes widened and her face flushed with anger and embarrassment, she had noticed Chris's video camera.
Chris waved at Mouse and pointed to the camera, mouthing, "Youtube."
Mouse seemed to be yelling something at him, but we couldn't hear her over the roar of the crowd.
The other cheerleaders laughed and motioned for Mouse to follow them off the field.
The football game started, but we just watched the video Chris had filmed in a loop throughout the whole game.
After the game, we found Mouse and 'congratulated' her.
"Hey, Mousey!" I patted her on the back hard. She almost jumped out of her skin, "Angie!"
We all started laughing, except for Mouse.
"Really. A cheerleader, Mouse?" Leo said, smirking, "That's a new one."
Chris gestured to her uniform, "Okay, I'll just tell you upfront, Mouse. Orange is sooo not your color. The ponytail, however, is kind of a nice extra."
Mouse clenched her teeth, "Chris, can't you go be a diva somewhere else?"
Chris chuckled, "And guess what? I got the whole thing on tape to show your little family."
He added innocently, "They said they were so sorry they couldn't come."
Well, that was kind of an automatic death sentence for poor Chris.
Mouse immediately ran after Chris; what a shock.
I must say, Mouse can run a lot faster than you would think.... a heck of a lot faster than Chris.
"Chris!" I yelled stupidly, "She's gonna break the camera!"
Leo snickered, getting Alice's and my attention.
"What?" I said.
He held up the video camera and watched Mouse pointlessly chase Chris all around the football field.
I tried to look mad.
"Leo, that was a very mean thing to do." I said stupidly, "She could hurt him, you know Chris can't outrun her."
We all started laughing soon enough, watching cruelly as Mouse attacked Chris and discovered that he didn't have the camera. She looked up at Leo, a wild look in her eyes.
Leo smirked, waving the camera up above his head.
Mouse ran up to him and started uselessly jumping for the camera.
Leo easily held it out of her reach, grinning.
Mouse stepped back, clenching her teeth, "Leo, give me the camera!"
"Oh, did those cheerleaders finally tell you that it's not ladylike to attack people into giving you things?" Leo said. Well, that couldn't be smart.
Mouse charged at him, snatching the camera.
Leo then performed a stunt that was pretty clever for him. When he saw Mouse, he pressed the button on the side of the camera and flipped the tape out of it, catching the tape in between his fingers.
He apparently noticed this, because he smirked triumphantly.
"Woah," He said dumbly, "I am a beast!"
I rolled my eyes and said, "Please never say that word again. I better go make sure Mouse didn't kill Chris."
Leo nodded, glancing at the tape in his hands.
I picked Chris up off the ground and started dusting off his shirt, "Dude, that wasn't smart."
Chris laughed stupidly, "It sure as heck was funny, though."
Were people just unusually stupid tonight?

When Chris and I got home, we went straight to my room to watch the video Chris filmed. Chris's creepy cat, Ger10, came and sat on my head.
"Chris!" I said, "Get this stupid cat off my head!"
"Sorry," Chris said, picking Ger10 up, "You want to see the video of Mousey being weird too, don't you? Yes, yes you do."
I rolled my eyes. Something really bothers me about that cat, but I don't know what it is. It's just always... staring at me.
We watched the video about seven more times before I kicked Chris and his cat out and went to sleep.
